Buena Regional Education Foundation

The Buena Regional Education Foundation is a community organization that has a central mission of raising funds to assist the students of the Buena Regional School District. Since our formation in 2000, we have awarded nearly one million dollars in support and scholarships.

There are many ways to help the Foundation which include but are not limited to:

• Contributing to and/or attending our annual fundraiser. Sponsorships, table sponsors, basket donations, and ticket sales are all ways to help and support us.
• Scholarship Drive contributions
• Funeral Request (The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made in memory of deceased and sent to the Buena Regional Education Foundation, P.O. Box 342, Buena, NJ  08310)

About The Buena Regional Education Foundation 

The Buena Regional Education Foundation was formed in the year 2000, and was the idea of John Zucal, a long term Buena Regional School District Board President. It is an independent Foundation managed bya Board of Trustees. Its mission is to award scholarships to students and to provide aid to the Buena Schools for programs and equipment which are not a part of the regular school budget. It is totally independent of the School Board and is a 401(c)(3) charitable foundation.

In the past, the Foundation has made grants to teachers of over $5,000 each year for programs, on the basis of grant applications from the District teachers. A few examples of which are:

• Elementary Playground Equipment -- Kinder size picnic tables
• Motivational assembly speakers – story time readers – Walnut Street Theatre players
• Special Art Projects – Lego Education
• Field trips to the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels – Pitman Theatre – Woodruff – Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge…..and so much more!

Many of these programs give children experiences that they may never have an opportunity to enjoy due to economic restrictions.

The Foundation has also purchased cardiac defibrillators for each of the District schools.

The Foundation has provided scholarships to Buena Regional High School’s graduating high school seniors each spring from 2004 to and including 2017 totaling $413,900.

The Foundation also manages close to $50,000 of endowment funds donated in honor of deceased educators, loved ones and also in honor of living persons. All donations in any amount will be accepted. Please forward your check to Buena Regional Education Foundation, PO Box 342, Buena, NJ 08310.
