Buena Regional Board of Education Notice of School Board Member Vacancy
BUENA REGIONAL BOARD OF EDUCATION NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER VACANCY
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-5, notice is hereby given that the Buena Regional Board of Education is seeking qualified candidates from Buena Borough for a board member vacancy to serve through December 31st, 2027.
Legal requirements for this position include:
Be able to read and write;
Hold U.S. citizenship and minimum of one year's residency in the Buena Borough;
Have no interest in any contract with, or claim against, the Board;
Not hold office as mayor or member of the municipal governing body;
Be registered to vote in the district prior to submitting letter of interest and resume;
Not simultaneously hold two elective offices; and
Not be disqualified from membership for the conviction of certain crimes. (Within 30 days of election or appointment to the board, a member must undergo a criminal history background investigation through the state Department of Education.)

The deadline to submit the letter and resume is 3:00 pm on Monday, August 24th, 2026.
**If interviews are necessary, applicants would be expected to appear before the Board on Tuesday, September 8th at their Regular Board of Education Meeting.
