About BRMS
Buena Regional Middle school is committed to an excellent educational program that provides for mastery, by all students, of the Core Curriculum Content Standards. Moreover, all students will develop a framework for lifelong learning and the competencies necessary for responsible productive citizenship, understanding an appreciation of cultural diversity and contribution to social consciousness in a world of ever-accelerating change, global interdependence, and technological influence.
At BRMS we recognize students and staff for academic and school wide acknowledgment. Each month students and staff are recognized as students of the month and staff of the month, additionally students are recognized for exhibiting the character traits of respect, responsibility, making right choices and effort. Quarterly students are recognized for academic achievements.
BRMS offers the following clubs; Art, Band, Drama, FCA, Garden Club, NJHS, Newspaper, Spectrum, Student Council, Vocal Music/Choir, Yearbook, and 8th Grade Committee.
BRMS offers the following interscholastic sport teams: field hockey, girls and boys soccer, cross country, girls and boys basketball, wrestling, track and field, softball and baseball. These teams compete in the Atlantic Cape Middle School Conference. Our sports programs allow students in grades 6-8 the opportunity to be in a competitive conference. Many of the students are exposed to these sports for the first time and their participation leads many to continue with this sport in high school.
BRMS offers the BOOST (Buena Out of School Time) program, a 21st Century Grant after school program, to our students. The BOOST. Program is a collaboration of diverse community partners who provide educational programs during non-school hours for students and their families at Buena Regional Middle School. The program offers a series of activities for students grades 6 through 8. Areas of academic remediation and enrichment across the curriculum are addressed.
BRMS offers language arts, math, science, and social studies with an accelerated program being available to eligible students. This includes pre-algebra in 7th grade and algebra in 8th grade. We have a full Special Education Program and ESL Program. Students also have the following elective enrichment courses: computers, horticulture, communications, art, band and choir. Students also receive instruction in world language and PBL (problem based learning). BRMS promotes the health and wellness of our students by offering health and physical education classes.
BRMS has two school counselors, a full CST that offers support and services to students with disabilities, and The AtlantiCare Behavioral Health Youth Center which offers behavioral health services to students and families.
Our food services provide a healthy nutritious breakfast and lunch program.
BRMS has an active, well organized Parent Teacher Organization.
